It’s that time
Yay, the Phillies have two All-Stars!
Kyle Schwarber and Zack Wheeler have made the 2025 National League All-Star Team.
Trea Turner, Ranger Suarez, and Cristopher Sanchez did not.

First of all, congratulations to Wheeler and Schwarber. Both are clearly deserving of the honor, Wheeler being one of, if not the, top arms in the game today and Schwarber being one of the best hitters in the game, regardless of position. They’re both deserving.
There will be gnashing of teeth about the trio of “snubbed” players from the Phillies, but it’s kind of the name of the game. Trea Turner gets squeezed out by, presumably, Brendan Donovan, but the Cardinals needed a representative, so Donovan it is. Sanchez and Suarez not making the team is a byproduct of the National League having very good pitching this year. Look at this list:

That’s some impressive names here. Look closely and you can already see one pitcher (Chris Sale) who probably will need a sub, opening a lane for either pitcher.
It stinks that Turner, Sanchez and Suarez won’t be on the initial list, but by the time the first pitch is thrown in Atlanta, I’d wager Schwarber and Wheeler aren’t alone.
