
Kind of overwhelming too
This week, we asked the question about whether the team should still be employing a platoon in center field. The results:

It seemed a bit unfair to be focusing specifically on center field when discussing the platoons that the Phillies are running out on the field. At present, there are platoons (unspoken perhaps) in center field, left field and second base. However, in only one of them is there a clear player that is performing of late, that being Brandon Marsh.
As we’ve discussed, Johan Rojas, the other option for Rob Thomson, simply isn’t hitting well enough to warrant more playing time. His defense remains some of the best in the game, but that can only take you so far, particularly on a team that is as streaky as the Phillies. Marsh is not immune to those streaks, yet he has been good enough since returning from his injury that he should still be the one getting the bulk of the time, regardless of who is on the mound.
Now, about that second base platoon…
