Me too
The trade deadline is coming soon and now that we are into June, the needs are coming to the forefront. For the Phillies, the needs that they have seem obvious, made more so by injury and suspension. They need help in the bullpen, maybe an outfielder (or two) and possibly even some bench depth that can all help them get through the season to October. Pressed with answering the question, you responded in kind.

The majority of you believe that adding a reliever is the thing the Phillies need to do with the utmost importance in July, something I’d happen to agree with. I’m not even sure that it matters what kind of reliever either. They’d much rather be able to acquire a reliever that excels in leveraged situations, but it’s possible that they can’t really be choosers. Those kinds of relievers are going to be in high demand come July, so the Phillies will have to pony up.
As far as the outfield is concerned, yes, they could still use some help out there, but these last few games has seen at least two – Brandon Marsh and Max Kepler – show some signs of life at the plate. They still probably prefer a solid starter that can hit against either sided pitcher, but maybe they’ll settle for someone who upgrades the platoon.
Either way, it should be a really interesting deadline coming up for Dombrowski and friends.
