Let’s not worry about actual availability
Trading season is coming and with that come the usual columns about who’s available, who isn’t, who’s a seller, who isn’t. It’s a rite of passage and we all do it.
Instead of doing something like that, I’d rather do a different thing. So, for today’s question of the day: which player would you be most interested in adding to the Phillies for 2025, regardless of availability? The obvious answer for this question is and probably always will be Shohei Ohtani. You might say, “where well does Kyle Schwarber play?” to which I say “somewhere so Ohtani can DH, then pitch.” He’s one of those players that you put in a slot and move other people to fit him.
But what about others? What does Bobby Witt, Jr. look like on this roster? Does Pete Crow-Armstrong make the outfield that much better? Would you like to see what Kyle Tucker could do in left field?
