Is it permanent or is it a hot streak?
Just when we all thought the outfield participants were in danger of losing jobs, boom- they’ve started hitting again. Max Kepler, of course, was the one to win the game yesterday for the Phillies with his home run, but Brandon Marsh has been hitting well of late (six for his last ten), giving the Phillies at least two threats in the lineup. Johan Rojas is the opposite with his hitting two for his last fifteen and somewhat playing his way out of the rotation.
Weston Wilson? Never heard of him.
It’s still not ideal as one would like the team to have consistent outfield play from the players that are standing out there, but compared to what they had gotten prior, this recent streak has been a welcome sight.
Which brings us to our question: you good with the outfield moving forward or does there still need to be upgrades? Personally, upgrades are a must, but will be difficult to find. There isn’t a clear upgrade in center field over the platoon the team is currently using, so maybe continuing as is out there is the best solution. Left field is a bit trickier as Kepler does have a decent amount of money still owed him, but the team has shown in the past few years that they will move on from that money if it improves the team. Would the Phillies do it if an upgrade presents itself?
