Finally.
Dick Allen was finally put where he belongs, standing side by side with the greats of the game in Cooperstown. The past few years, I’ve grown a bit weary of the Hall of Fame arguments that usually happen towards the latter part of the year since people are “rethinking” or “reanalyzing” a person’s career that year, as if those numbers have somehow changed in the months after they were able to vote for that person in the first place.
Seeing Allen finally inducted is a bit melancholy since he wasn’t there to share in the joy, but being able to get in had to be a thrill for his family. Congratulations to them.
On to the links.
