- Moisés Chace’s velocity was down to 88-91 and didn’t finish three innings in his AA start. Not great.

- The Miami Marlins DFA’d Jonah Bride and reinstated Jesús Sánchez from the injured list. Bride was their number three hitter on opening day.
- The Cubs optioned top prospect Matt Shaw to AAA after hitting just .172 to begin the season.
- Alexis Díaz returns from the injured list but won’t be the closer right away, according to Reds manager Terry Francona.
