The Philadelphia Phillies have some under-the-radar players who could be on the move this offseason. It would not be a surprise to see the Phillies rearrange the edges of their roster via trades. Nick Castellanos and Alec Bohm are expected to be traded this offseason, but other players could be on the move as well. Bryce Harper is not going to be traded despite prior speculation. Taijuan Walker is another player who could realistically be traded. In his case, it wouldn’t be a surprise. Some players could be moved because of minor league option considerations. Furthermore, others could be moved because they are blocked from the major league roster at their current position.

Phillies Players Who Might Be On the Move
Seth Johnson
Seth Johnson has no minor league options remaining, making him a trade candidate. While Johnson had a rough outing in his lone major league appearance in 2024, his 2025 season was decent. He split the 2025 season between Triple-A Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia. In the minors, the Phillies moved Johnson to the bullpen to give them roster flexibility. In total, he made 49 appearances across both levels in 2025. Johnson had a 1-1 record with a 4.26 ERA in 10 major league outings this season. He also had a 4.25 K/BB rate and a 1.184 WHIP in the majors. If Johnson remains with the Phillies heading into spring training, he will be in line to compete for a bullpen spot. There will probably be a decent amount of competition for those spots.

Johan Rojas
Unlike the other players on this list, Johan Rojas does have a minor league option year remaining. However, he has not performed well at the plate in the major leagues. This is why the Phillies have traded for Harrison Bader and Austin Hays at the last two trade deadlines. The Phillies lack right-handed hitting outfield depth at the major league and minor league levels. Rojas has progressively gotten worse at the plate in three major league seasons. In 2023, he had a .771 OPS and a 108 wRC+, compared to a .601 OPS and a 66 wRC+ in 2024, and a .569 OPS and a 58 wRC+ in 2025. While Rojas is a good defender, his lack of offensive production has hurt the team. It is probably time for the Phillies to trade Rojas, and do it this offseason.
Garrett Stubbs/Rafael Marchán
It would not be a surprise to see one of Garrett Stubbs or Rafael Marchán traded this offseason. Both players are out of minor league options, so it is possible that both get dealt. J.T. Realmuto being a free agent this offseason complicates the Phillies’ catching situation. Heading into 2026 with Stubbs and Marchán as the Phillies’ catchers would not be ideal. Keeping Realmuto may come at a cost, but the catching position lacks serviceable options. Realmuto re-signing with the Phillies makes it easier to trade Stubbs or Marchán. In 2025, his first season as the backup catcher, Marchán had a .210/.282/.305 line with two home runs and 13 RBI in 42 games. He recorded a 65 wRC+ and a .230 BABIP as well. The Phillies could find better offensive production for the backup role.
