Herrera and Coonrod on rehab assignment with mixed results in this one. The latter could be a real shot to the arm for the big club when he returns. Mark Appel is falling back to earth. Dalton Guthrie extended his hitting streak to 9 games.

Josh Hendrickson was far from perfect, but didn’t have to be. Though, Kyle Dohy nearly blew it in the bottom of the 9th when he gave up 2 runs to bring the game within 1-run. Bryson Stott went off after a very slow month at the plate for the top hitting prospect. It was his 5th HR and 9th/10th doubles so far with AA.

Good news is Mick Abel was able to make this start (he was pulled in the last one for an injury concern). Bad news he wasn’t very effective. The Thresher offense impressively had more walks (13) than they did hits (7) or strikeouts (10). They actually went up by a run in the top of the 10th when a wild pitch allowed a run to score. Sadly, Leonel Aponte gave up two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the loss.
