Aroon Escobar ends homer-less drought.

Lehigh Valley IronPigs (6-5, 2.5 games back in division)

Hitting Highlights:

Justin Crawford – 8 for 17, 4 R, 2 2B, 2 BB, K, CS
Weston Wilson – 9 for 22, 7 R, 2B, HR, 5 RBI, 2 BB, 3 K
Keaton Anthony – 4 for 16, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 3 K
Gabriel Rincones Jr. – 5 for 15, R, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 4 BB, 2 K, SB, CS

Pitching Highlights:

Gabe Mosser – 4.1 IP, 10 H, 9 R, 9 ER, BB, 4 K, 3 HR
Andrew Painter – 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 7 K
Alan Rangel – 5.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 BB, 4 K, 2 HR
Adonis Medina – 2 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K
Mitch Neunborn – 4.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K

Justin Crawford riding a modest 8 game hitting streak and since June 1st has been slashing .370/.453/.494 (with a lofty .408 BABIP). Yes, that is indeed Adonis Medina listed above and no you did not time travel back to 2019. Phillies were in need of arms I suppose and given the results of both him and his rotation-mates this week…they may need more.

Reading Fightin Phils (5-7, 3 games back in division)

Hitting Highlights:

Aidan Miller – 6 for 21, 5 R, 3B, HR, 2 RBI, 5 BB, 7 K, 4 SB, CS
Carson DeMartini – 4 for 16, 3 R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 3 BB, 5 K, SB, CS
Hendry Mendez – 6 for 20, 2 R, 2B, 4 RBI, 3 BB, 2 K, HBP
Dylan Campbell – 4 for 20, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 BB, 7 K, 3 SB, CS
Felix Reyes – 2 for 12, 2 R, 3B, RBI, 3 BB, 4 K, 4 SB

Pitching Highlights:

Charles King – 5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
Estibenzon Jimenez – 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 K
Jean Cabrera – 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
Jack Dallas – 2 G, 4.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 9 K

This is more of the Aidan Miller we want to see. He hit his 7th HR and over his last 7 games he is slashing .320/.452/.600. Martini launched his 1st AA HR of the season, giving him 9 across two levels. Reading actually got some great pitching this week. It was good to see Jean Cabrera back on track as you have to imagine that he could be a decent trade piece this month.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws (5-10, 6 games back in division)

Hitting Highlights:

Bryan Rincon – 4 for 20, 2 R, 2B, RBI, 3 BB, 5 K, 2 SB, 2 CS
Avery Owusu-Asiedu – 7 for 21, 4 R, 2 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 3 BB, 7 K, CS
Nick Biddison – 5 for 18, 6 R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 3 BB, 2 K, 4 SB
Kehden Hettiger – 6 for 14, 2 R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, BB, K
Raylin Heredia – 2 for 13, 2 R, RBI, BB, K

Pitching Highlights:

Gabriel Barbosa – 5.2 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 5 K
Alex McFarlane – 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 4 K
Casey Steward – 4 IP, 12 H, 7 R, 7 ER, K, HR
Braydon Tucker – 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 8 K
Mavis Graves – 2.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 5 K
Reese Dutton – 6 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 5 K

Owusu-Asiedu hit his 6th HR of the season and his slashing a modest .267/.375/.403 with 17 SB in 221 at-bats. Alex McFarlane has been on fire in his last two starts, giving up no hits in 10 innings of work while striking out 13 to just 3 walks.

Clearwater Threshers (5-9, 6.5 games back in division)

Hitting Highlights:

Aroon Escobar – 5 for 19, 5 R, HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB, HBP, 2 SB
Dante Nori – 6 for 18, 3 R, 2B, RBI, 6 BB, 3 K, SB, CS
Eduardo Tait – 5 for 18, 5 R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 5 BB, 3 K
TJayy Walton – 4 for 15, 4 R, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 5 K, SB
John Spikerman – 4 for 18, 4 R, HR, 4 RBI, BB, 6 K, 2 SB
Juan Villavicencio – 2 for 12, 2 R, HR, 5 RBI, 4 BB, 4 K, 2 SB
Alirio Ferrebus – 6 for 14, 4 R, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 3 K, SB

Pitching Highlights:

Juan Aramante – 4 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 7 K, 2 HR
Ryan Degges – 1.1 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 3 HR
Sam Highfill – 4 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 4 K

Escobar’s first HR since May 17th if you can believe it. Also the first time he has strung together 3+ games in a row with a hit since early June. Tait mashed his 11th of the season. No big deal for an 18 year old in full-season ball.
