Erik Miller returns to the lineup with a rehab assignment in the FCL.

Buffalo 12, Lehigh Valley 2

Cristopher Sanchez – 3 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, HR, 5 GB, 1 FB
Didi Gregorius – 2 for 4, R, K
Matt Vierling – 1 for 4
Mickey Moniak – 1 for 4, K, CS
Ryan Cordell – 1 for 4, HR, K
Rafael Marchan – 2 for 3, BB, K

This game was not one for the highlight reel. Sanchez, Jakob Hernandez, Brady Lail and Damon Jones combined for the 11 hits and 12 runs. Ryan Cordell hit his 11th homer if you are into that. Didi Gregorius once again with a multi-hit game in another rehab start. I’d imagine he is very close to being reinstated from the IL.

Reading 9, Erie 3

Josh Hendrickson – 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 3 GB, 3 FB
Daniel Brito – 2 for 4, R, 2B, 2 BB, K
Bryson Stott – 0 for 3, R, BB, 3 K
Jorge Bonifacio – 3 for 4, 3 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, HBP
Madison Stokes – 4 for 5, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI
Rodolfo Duran – 0 for 5, R, 3 K
Josh Stephen – 1 for 4, 3B, RBI, HBP
McCarthy Tatum – 2 for 4, HR, 2 RBI
Arquimedes Gamboa – 0 for 5, 2 K

Jorge Bonifacio doesn’t stop hitting dingers, huh? Kinda surprising that after 10 bombs in AA that they haven’t seen enough to think he (a former MLBer) should be in AAA to see some more advanced hitting. Not saying Bonifacio will be a difference maker with the club, but why keep him at AA at this point? Anyway, speaking of mashing homers, McCarthy Tatum launched his 7th of the season. Of the corner infielders 26 hits this season, 15 have been for extra bases (he is also hitting only .190 on the season FYI).

Hudson Valley 4, Jersey Shore 1

Ethan Lindow – 6 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 K, 2 HR, WP, 5 GB, 3 FB
Logan O’Hoppe – 0 for 3, BB, K
Casey Martin – 0 for 3, BB, 2 K, CS
Jhailyn Ortiz – 2 for 4, 2B, HR, 2 K
Jonathan Guzman – 1 for 3, 2B, 2 K
DJ Stewart – 0 for 3, K

Ethan Lindow the hard-luck loser in this one. Despite a decent outing, the BlueClaw offense had only 3 hits all game and were 0 for 4 with RISP. Jhailyn Ortiz showing off that abundant power in this one, swatting his 6th HR and 8th double. Casey Martin continues to struggle since his promotion to High-A. The 22 year old is just 4 for 27 at the plate with 10 strikeouts.

Clearwater, St. Lucie (ppd due to rain)

FCL Phillies 9, FCL Tigers West 4

Erik Miller – 0.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, K
Tom Sutera – 2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 K, HR, 2 GB, 1 FB
Dylan Casteneda – 4 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 6 K, HBP, 0 GB, 4 FB
Jamari Baylor – 1 for 4, R, RBI, 2 K
Marcus Lee Sang – 1 for 4, R, RBI, SB

Great news with Erik Miller making a rehab start with the complex club. Not sure I’ve seen what kind of injury he suffered, but seeing him back in the lineup is great news. Just FYI all, I’m not always going to touch on everyone at the complex club, but I’ll be sure to link to the boxscore with each game here.
