Aidan Miller is hurt, Justin Crawford returns from injury.

Lehigh Valley IronPigs (46-23, 3 game lead in division)

Andrew Painter – 2 GS, 10 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 10 K, 2 HR
Alan Rangel – 5 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 5 K, 2 HR
Gabe Mosser – 5.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, HR
Nabil Crismatt – 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 3 K
Justin Crawford – 2 for 9, 2 R, BB, K, CS
Buddy Kennedy – 6 for 18, 3 R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 3 BB, 4 K, HBP, SB
Gabriel Rincones Jr. – 5 for 19, 4 R, RBI, 4 BB, 6 K, HBP, SB, CS
Oscar Mercado – 6 for 25, 3 R, 2 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2 BB, 5 K, SB
Keaton Anthony – 7 for 21, 3 R, 2 2B, RBI, BB, 3 K

Andrew Painter followed up his first stinker of the season (6 runs on 8 hits in 5 IP) with one of his best (5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 6 K). Justin Crawford missed some time this week with a quad injury to return for Saturday and Sunday’s contests. Keaton Anthony earned a well-deserved promotion to AAA this past week after slashing .330/.380/.522 with Reading. He has hit safely in all 5 games since being called up.

Reading Fightin Phils (23-38, 19 games back in division)

Mitch Neunborn – 2 GS, 7 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 8 K
Braeden Fausnaught – 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, HR
Jean Cabrera – 5 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, HR
Wil Crowe – 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 7 K, HR
Charles King – 6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 5 K, HR
Aidan Miller – 2 for 8, 2B, RBI, 2 BB, 2 K, 2 SB, CS
Carson DeMartini – 8 for 25, 4 H, 2B, RBI, 2 BB, 5 K, 5 SB
Hendry Mendez – 5 for 20, 5 R, 2 3B, 3 RBI, 5 BB, K
Felix Reyes – 7 for 18, 6 R, 2 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 BB, 2 K, HBP, SB
Robert Moore – 5 for 19, 3 R, 4 2B, 3 BB, 2 K

Aidan Miller has been out of the lineup since last playing on 6/11. I haven’t been able to find what is going on there, but he hasn’t hit the IL yet so hopefully it isn’t too serious. Another well-deserved promotion in the system was Carson DeMartini getting the call to AA. He has reached base in 5 of his first 6 games with Reading. Hendry Mendez continues to put together a solid season with a .288/.370/.429 line in 191 AB. The 21 year old is holding his own, though you’d hope to see a little more power from the LF-only prospect.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws (24-37, 18 games back in division)

Estibenzon Jimenez – 5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Alex McFarlane – 4 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Reese Dutton – 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K
Casey Steward – 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
Dylan Campbell – 9 for 19, 4 R, 3 2B, HR, 5 RBI, 3 BB, 3 K, SB
Bryan Rincon – 2 for 12, 3 R, 2 RBI, BB, 5 K
Elio Prado – 5 for 20, 2 R, 2B, 3 RBI, 7 K, SB
Caleb Ricketts – 5 for 15, 2 RBI, K
Zach Arnold – 3 for 13, 4 R, 3 BB, 3 K

The state of Jersey Shore remains absolutely brutal. There were some good pitching performances and nice bouncebacks from McFarlane and Steward. With DeMartini promoted, Devin Saltiban hurt, and Bryan Rincon struggling at the plate…the only thing that will save this offense will be promotions shortly after the draft.

Clearwater Threshers (34-29, 2.5 games back in division)

Gabriel Barbosa – 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, K
Griff McGarry – 3 IP, 4 H, 0 R, BB, 4 K
Ryan Dromboski – 2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, K
Ryan Degges – 4 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, HR
Sam Highfill – 8 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 K
Aroon Escobar – 7 for 23, 3 R, 2 2B, 7 RBI, 2 BB, 6 K, SB
Dante Nori – 6 for 21, 2 R, 4 2B, 7 RBI, 4 BB, 4 K, 2 SB
Eduardo Tait – 3 for 22, 4 RBI, 4 BB, 2 K
Kodey Shojinaga – 3 for 19, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, 4 BB, 2 K
Avery Owusu-Asiedu – 4 for 15, 7 R, RBI, 6 BB, 2 K, 3 SB

After lighting the world on fire in April, Aroon Escobar’s power has certainly re-entered the stratosphere. Good news is though, his ability to get on base hasn’t waned. The 21 year old is slashing .315/.410/.500 with 10 HR and 6 SB in 216 AB. Dante Nori’s last 21 games have been pretty solid, hitting .275/.362/.388 with 8 SB in 80 AB. The 2024 1st round pick has been able to stay on the field unlike his 2nd and 3rd draft counterparts, Griffin Burkholder and John Spikerman.
