Hello…Mick Abel? He seems to be keeping this trend of good pitching up. Is he back into the Phillies future plans? Is he now trade deadline bait? Time will surely tell either way. Andrew Painter made his first AAA of the season and did fairly well! Command fell apart a bit, but velocity held up and in my brief highlight viewing he looks damn good. Unfortunately, since becoming an Otto Kemp Blog, we have done the reverse jinx to him and his bat has been not so great over the last week. Garrett Stubbs continues to troll AAA pitching and is likely the heir apparent to JT Realmuto. He will surely be able to do this against major league pitching.
Reading Fightin Phils (9-21, 9 games back in division)

Hendry Mendez – 5 for 16, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 3 BB, 3 K, HBP
Aidan Miller picks up his first dinger since April 15th and just his 3rd on the season overall. The 20 year old continues to get his bearings at AA, but time is on his side to right the ship. Jean Cabrera with his best outing of the season this past week with a season-high 8 strikeouts and tying his longest start with 6 innings.

Steward with one of his best starts of the season after giving up 9 runs in his last outing. The 7 strikeouts were a season-high. Alex McFarlane had some real buzz prior to sitting out last season with Tommy John surgery. After giving up 12 runs in his first three appearances this season (8.1 IP), McFarlane has a line of 12.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 15 K in his last 3 outings. An already thin hitting lineup took a hit with Saltiban landing on the IL last week.

Ryan Dromboski has been impressive in the early-going. Through 29 innings this season he is holding opponents to a .555 OPS. Our long national nightmare is over and 2024 1st round pick Dante Nori has hit his first professional homer. It only took 166 at-bats. Aroon Escobar mashed his 6th and 7th homers of the season, but saw his season line drop to .309/.421/.555. 2024 3rd Round Pick John Spikerman finally makes his 2025 debut only to injure himself after hitting his first professional homerun. Fun! Eduardo Tait improved his season line to .280/.331/.523 with 6 HR and 6 walks to 26 strikeouts.
