Two games to open the second half
The second half is here and the Phillies get to play two games in honor of its return. It’s a little strange that they are making the two teams play a doubleheader right out of the gate, but they must figure that they will be fresher from having had four days off. Regardless, this is where the Phillies can begin their climb up the ladder to the top of the NL East. They’ll get a chance to grab a half game should they take both ends of the double dip, so they’ll plan their lineups accordingly. Here are the lineups. For the Phillies:
Updated lineup:
2B Segura
LF Miller
RF Harper
1B Hoskins
SS Gregorius
CF Jankowski
3B Torreyes
C Knapp
P Moore https://t.co/GhJeHVnzZd— Philadelphia Phillies (@Phillies) July 16, 2021
You can see that Nick Maton was supposed to start, but he suffered a cut on his finger and cannot start. Alec Bohm is still in Covid protocol, so he’s unavailable. Matt Moore gets to start things off first for the Phillies. He’s been not too horrible his last three starts, so he’ll try and continue that pattern today against the Marlins.
For the Marlins:
Marlins Game 1 Lineup vs. Phillies (4:05 ET)
SS Miguel Rojas
CF Starling Marte
RF Garrett Cooper
LF Adam Duvall
1B Jesús Aguilar
2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
C Jorge Alfaro
3B Jon Berti

The Phillies get to see Sandy Alcantara right out of the chute. Hooray.
We’ll put game two lineups in here as soon as we can. Until then, let’s talk about it.
