My point of view on interleague play is established: I hate it. Once MLB decides to expand, they should get rid of it. However, it’s here to stay for a while longer at least, but this year, with the Phillies at least, there has been a scheduling quirk. They haven’t played a National League team since July 13 and will not play a National League team until August 11.
That seems like a long time.
It brings us to our question of the day: do you like this much interleague play at once? Do you really care that much at all? It really does seem like a scheduling oddity that will not happen as much in the future, but who really knows what MLB will do. I just feel like the league could have broken up this stretch a little bit.
Speaking of scheduling oddities, did you realize the Phillies haven’t played on a Thursday since June 26 and will not until August 14? Strange.
