Well, it seems that we will not see Citizen Bank Park allowing players of fans in anytime soon.
Yesterday, the MLB and MLBPA met with not sides coming to an agreement after what seemed to be a positive outcome of the last meeting. It is crazy to see how greedy these owners are towards the players who give them success and money. The worst part is that Manfred shows how little he cares about the fan base.
The Repeat Concession.
I wrote many times about how much of a distaste I have towards Manfred. Heck, it’s probably more than everyone who dislikes me for my jersey article.
It’s almost like Manfred is trying to squeeze out as much profit as he can get just so that he does his own thing, and that’s not ok. Baseball is losing traction in the US, and its not getting fixed with locking players and fans out. The Fans are who Manfred and these owners should care about more than their own pockets.
The Loyals
Wasnt it 2 years ago when Phillies fans known as the Pandemic Krew were going on ladders to watch the Phillies play in a no crowd stadium. Arent Mariniers fans who have not seen their team in the playoff go out to support this past season? Has the A’s shown what happens when bad management destroys fanbases with the lack of profit being put into the team.
Baseball’s most significant moments are when the fans’ roar is felt through a listener or viewer’s heart. Manfred doesn’t feel that way towards the game. I remember having a phone meeting with Baseball historian John Thorn talking about the beauty of baseball. He truly loves the game, and he helped me find the path I wanted to take. I bring this up because I don’t see the younger generation caring about that.
Baseball is sidelined even by sports such as Soccer. I liked the sport before Soccer got even more popular in the US. I see more kids talking about Ronaldo than I do with Trout. Is this not something that should worry Manfred and the league. Things need to change even more than when I wrote my first Manfred diss three months back.
There was a point too, where learning about the Steroid contract ending was the most significant positive news to come out this whole off-season. The fact that we want our players to make the game as exciting as possible shows that Manfred is doing nothing to save the game of baseball.
