Jalen Hurts might be heading into the 6th year of his NFL career.
The 2025-2026 season will only be his 5th season as the starting quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The player, Jalen Hurts, is constantly scrutinized by the Media, opposing fans, and sometimes even our own.
Seriously does Jalen Hurts have one clutch drive in the playoffs that even comes close to what Lamar did vs Buffalo

You’d think that after making another Super Bowl, with a blowout victory, along with Super Bowl MVP, the noise would stop.

In Hurts’ rookie season, he only started 4 games. During that year, the Eagles’ top three receivers were Travis Fulgham, Dallas Goedert, and Greg Ward. Fast forward to his 2nd season, the start of the Sirianni era, with receiving leaders DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Quez Watkins.
A first-round pick wasted on Jalen Reagor, just shy of both lists, assisted with the Eagles’ offensive struggles.
However, once A.J. Brown was traded to the Eagles, the offense began to find life. The offense picked up an explosive spark. Finding their way to their first Super Bowl, Jalen was leading MVP conversations.
After experimenting with running backs that benefited from the Eagles’ offensive line, it was time for another approach—a running back who thrived without the linemen.
However, regular-season success became another issue that plagued the franchise.
Carousel of Coordinators
Since 2020, Jalen Hurts will be moving on to his 5th offensive coordinator.
- Doug Pederson with no OC (2020)
- Shane Steichen (2021-2022)
- Brian Johnson (2023)
- Kellen Moore (2024)
With Kevin Patullo getting promoted to Pass Game Coordinator, the OC will have another internal promotion, being the next man up.
Still Not Compared To The Elite Four
Even heading into 2025, Hurts isn’t seen as “the guy.” From Chase Daniel to Chris Simms. They still undervalue Hurts as a winning QB.
What else does he need to do?
In four seasons as a starter, Hurts has led the Eagles to a 45-17 record, with four playoff appearances, and a 6-3 playoff record.
Add on being a Super Bowl Champion, 2x Pro Bowler, 2nd Team All-Pro, and a Super Bowl MVP. He’s achieved accolades that Lamar Jackson & Josh Allen haven’t even played for.
What else will Jalen Hurts need to do to get the respect he deserves?
