And the Philadelphia Eagles are in a good position to steal the 7th Seed Wildcard.
After coming out with a Win against the Washington Football Team the Eagles are tied at 7-7 with the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints.
Thanks to a last second Field Goal from the Chargers… The Vikings hold the common opponents tie breaker and currently hold the 7th seed. However, with three remaining games, the Vikings have the roughest schedule to ride out. With Divisional matchups against the Packers and Bears to round out the year and a conference matchup against the LA Rams next week. Things don’t look like they’re coming up Minnesota which is beneficial to our situation to make the playoffs.
Look. You’re hoping for a LA & Green Bay W with a hope of the Bears making week 18 less stressful and for them to come up with the most important win of all this year.
At least we’ve got the Head-to-Head tiebreaker against the Saints, barring a final stretch collapse from the Eagles. Obviously best cast scenario is winning out against three division opponents, finishing 10-7 and making a stand in the playoffs, but I’m trying to remain vigilant and predicting a 9-8 Final Record with a loss against the Cowboys in week 18 unless Seeds are already determined and we end up playing a bunch of backups. But the Eagles have looked ruthless and like a completely different team from what fans saw in the early weeks of the 2021 season. Wins against the Giants & Football team on their 2nd time around seem like the easy wins they were for this team the last few years.
Talking about the Saints: their schedule also looks to be on the easier side of things. After keeping themselves in the conversation with an outstanding shutout against the Buccaneers, the Saints are also 7-7. With remaining matchups against the 6 Straight Win Dolphins and Divisional Panthers & Falcons, anything can happen with the Saints season, we’re just hoping they lose at least one of these games to keep the head-to-head tiebreaker an important factor, and that the Eagles are able to secure wins against 2 of 3 divisional opponents.
Thankfully Carson Wentz was able to stay healthy for at least another 15 weeks. With a broken foot, sprained ankles, and a first-round pick on the line. Wentz was able to successfully complete 75% of the Colts projected regular season snaps (Averaging 67 per game) with a playoff spot on the line, can make or break the Eagles new 1st round pick and whether or not it remains in the top 18 or higher.
Next week’s a big one. Jalen Hurts VS… Mike Glennon or Jake Fromm? Sounds like a Birds money line kind of Sunday.
Go Birds.
