Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

Eagles player review: Jalen Reagor edition – PhillyVoice
The two most appealing traits Reagor exhibited coming out of TCU were his deep speed and his run after catch ability. His run after catch production was disappointing. To begin, he ran out of bounds a lot. In a league where so many defensive backs suck at tackling, you don’t want to do their job for them, and in my opinion, Reagor left meat on the bone at times. […] Reagor’s rookie season was slowed by injuries, poor quarterback play, and a bad scheme, so excuses can be made for his lack of production, much in the same way excuses were made for his modest production at TCU. However, there were clearly a laundry list of concerns that emerged from Reagor’s 2020 season that cannot be hand-waived away by excuses. He has the talent, but the bad outweighed the good.

Weapon X Mailbag: Who would win in a Philly mascot fight? – BGN
Swoop is jacked and perpetually in his prime. The Phanatic is too slow, too immobile in his old age, the epitome of an aging prizefighter past his prime. Swoop KOs him. Swoop would need to alert and make sure none of the Galapagos Gang jumps in on him if he’s beating up on the Phanatic too badly. Franklin’s Cinderella run, however, doesn’t last. Swoop picks him up and breaks his back on his knee like Bane. Swoop gets a banner to replace the Carson Wentz one that got taken down at the Linc.

NFC East Mixtape Vol.12: Painful losses over the last decade – BGN Radio
Brandon Lee Gowton and RJ Ochoa talked about the most devastating losses that the Cowboys and Eagles have experienced against each of the division rivals.

Re-visiting some of the worst Dallas Cowboys losses to division rivals in recent memory – Blogging The Boys
In hindsight what makes this game particularly galling is that it was, at the time, the worst loss that the Cowboys had ever taken at AT&T Stadium. What is worse about that is that the halftime ceremony of this game featured Jerry Jones being honored for having gone into the Pro Football Hall of Fame three months prior. Sigh.

Better, worse or the same? Eagles’ offense pins hopes on Jalen Hurts – ESPN
The Eagles got little from their receivers last season. Their top performer, Fulgham, ranked 82nd in the league with 539 receiving yards. The optimism surrounding this group is largely about Smith, who tore up the NCAA last season to the tune of 117 catches, 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns. A polished route-runner with sensational hands and body control, there shouldn’t be too steep of a learning curve as he transitions from the SEC to the pros. He’ll be teamed with Reagor, their 2020 first-round pick who was slowed by injuries as a rookie. This is a very young room. No receiver on the roster is older than 25.

Doug Pederson: Eagles didn’t draft Jalen Hurts to ‘undermine’ Carson Wentz – NFL.com
“You know, you go into drafts and you go into each year looking for quarterbacks,” Pederson said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “And we continued to look for quarterbacks, and that’s always something that will never change. We won a Super Bowl with our backup quarterback. And we’ve had to play with our backups a couple of times in Philadelphia. So we did that a year ago and brought in Jalen Hurts — not to undermine Carson Wentz, not to do anything to take away his job or anything, cause Carson was definitely our starter. He was the franchise and all that moving forward. But someone that could come in and could be the backup and learn how to play the NFL game — bring his talent to the Philadelphia Eagles.”

Doug Pederson says he won’t dwell on past with Eagles – PFT
Some introspection will certainly be necessary given the rapid decline of the Eagles after their Super Bowl triumph. Pederson may even need to take a coordinator gig before he gets another chance to be a head coach. But Super Bowl winning head coaches are still in relatively short supply and Pederson would seem a likely candidate to get another shot eventually.

Greg Cosell: Giants are most balanced team in NFC East – Big Blue View
Each team in the NFC East has clearly defined strengths and weaknesses. For the Dallas Cowboys, their strength is on offense and their holes are on defense. The Washington Football Team is poised to field an elite defense but questionable offense. In Philly, there are too many weaknesses to count. The New York Giants also have positives and negatives on their team but NFL analyst Greg Cosell discussed what makes the Giants different when he recently appeared on the Inside the Birds podcast. The Giants, Cosell said, are more balanced as far as the gap between their offense and defense than the other teams in the division.

Off Day Debrief #44: Aaron Rodgers needs to end the uncertainty about his future – The SB Nation NFL Show
Rob “Stats” Guerrera and Brandon Lee Gowton react to what Aaron Rodgers said about his future during “The Match” on Tuesday. night, and wonder about the future of N’Keal Harry and Nick Foles. Plus, we finish our discussion from last week about the most overrated foods, bands, and movies of all-time. Why BLG says there’s no way Rodgers is coming back to Green Bay. What are the ripple effects if he doesn’t return? Why teams that want Rodgers should be doing right now. How did N’Keal Harry get the onions to demand a trade? Why lobster is the most overrated food in the history of cuisine.
