Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

Eagles GM Howie Roseman wins MVP — ‘Most Valuable Philadelphian’ — in city he considers ‘home’ – PHLY
Howie Roseman stood on the rooftop of the Independence Visitor Center with the Liberty Bell a few first downs away and the Constitution Center in his line of vision. He was honored to accept the MVP — the “Most Valuable Philadelphian” award — although his attention was also consumed by the idea of watching how the 76ers fared in the NBA Draft Lottery. His oldest son, who was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, was with him. It occurred to Roseman that if they went for a hoagie afterward, his son would use a term different than Roseman would have at that age in North Jersey. And if they went for ice cream as a treat, the term used for the topping might be different, too. In other words — and they are other words — Philadelphia is home. […] “I would describe it (in the way) Sinatra sang, ‘New York, New York’: You can make it there, you can make it anywhere,” Roseman said. “I’m proud to think that in the sports world, that’s Philly. If you can make it here and have success here, you have an opportunity to go anywhere and have success, because it’s never going to get more demanding — in a positive way — than it is here.”

Howie Roseman: Projectile beer can that hit him at the Eagles parade ‘probably symbolized my journey’ – Inquirer
The beer can projectile that gashed Howie Roseman’s forehead during his team’s championship parade in February and left him briefly with his own version of a Harry Potter scar was a metaphorical occurrence for the wizard behind two Eagles Super Bowl victories in eight seasons. “It probably symbolized my journey a little bit,” Roseman said Monday night. “I obviously don’t want to get hit by a beer can again, it did not feel good, but I think it kind of symbolized and reminded me that no matter what you do, you’re only as good as your last act.”

One big takeaway for all 32 NFL teams after the 2025 NFL draft – PFF
Philadelphia Eagles: Howie Roseman works his magic again. Howie Roseman continues to prove he’s a master of draft-day value. Year after year, the Eagles’ general manager finds a way to let top-tier talent fall right into his lap — and 2025 was no exception. This time, it was linebacker Jihaad Campbell, widely viewed as the best at his position, slipping to the 31st overall pick. Campbell earned grades above 75.0 in coverage, run defense, and as a pass rusher last season, showcasing the all-around skill set to step in immediately alongside Zack Baun. In the second round, the Eagles added safety Andrew Mukuba, who posted an elite 89.7 coverage grade and an outstanding 26.1% forced incompletion rate, one of the best marks in college football. He’ll be in the mix for a starting role from Day 1. Philadelphia also added eight players on Day 3, injecting quality depth across the roster. It’s the kind of calculated, value-driven drafting that has become Roseman’s signature and the reason the Eagles remain in championship contention year after year.

It Begins With The Boys – Iggles Blitz
Dallas at Philadelphia. The first game of the season. The Eagles get their Super Bowl rings. So many storylines, so much drama. Maybe. As Jimmy Bama pointed out, the Eagles outscored Dallas 75-13 in 2024. The Cowboys should be an improved team this season. Will they be good enough to compete with the Eagles and other top contenders? The advantage for Dallas is that they will have a new coach and there won’t be tape to study. They can throw some interesting wrinkles at the Eagles. How will the Dallas offense look with George Pickens in the mix? The advantage for the Eagles is that they have better players. That’s a good advantage to have. It will be fun for the Eagles to be celebrating their Super Bowl in front of the fans at The Linc, and in front of the Cowboys. Dallas hasn’t celebrated like this since 1996. I’m sure watching the festivities will drive Jerry Jones a bit crazy. This could be a glorious start to the season. There is always the chance Dallas pulls a big upset, but they haven’t beaten Jalen Hurts on the road so this will be an uphill battle for them.

Which Eagles starting spots are still up for grabs? – NBCSP
The top candidate to win this job in 2025 is Tyler Steen, the guy Becton replaced last training camp. Steen, 24, is entering his third NFL season after being drafted in the third round out of Alabama in 2023. Steen was supposed to be the starting right guard in 2024, replacing Cam Jurgens, who moved to center. But Steen suffered a minor ankle injury early in training camp; Becton was plugged in and never left. Steen still played over 300 snaps as a backup and played fairly well when called upon because of injury. The big thing for Steen is to find some more consistency if he’s going to be the full-time starter. It’ll likely be Steen in that position to start OTAs and to start training camp. Who are the competitors? The Eagles acquired former first-round pick Kenyon Green in the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade. It’s exciting to think about pairing a former first-rounder with offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland but Green’s NFL career has been an abject disappointment. Green started 23 games for the Texans at left guard and really struggled. Could he flip sides and suddenly live up to his potential? It’s possible but seems like a bit of a longshot. The other veteran on the team with a chance to earn the role is Matt Pryor. The Eagles this offseason re-signed their former draft pick who last played in Philly in 2020. Pryor in 2024 started 15 games for the Bears at right guard and played well. There are also some rookies who might be in the mix, although none of them are natural guards. Drew Kendall is fifth-round center who might have some guard flexibility. Myles Hinton and Cameron Williams are sixth-round tackles who might get a look inside.

DeVonta Smith of the Eagles visits Spain as NFL ambassador ahead of 2025 game in Madrid – AP
Smith was doing some football ambassador work on a recent visit to Barcelona, where he watched his first soccer match — the latest edition of the famed El Clasico rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. He said he’s confident the NFL game will catch on in Spain as it has elsewhere.

Washington’s wide receivers offer plenty of talent and versatility – Hogs Haven
Deebo Samuel was brought in to complement McLaurin as the team’s true number two option. Deebo can play outside, inside and operate from the backfield, so listing him as an X, Z, Slot or even RB wouldn’t make much sense. What does make sense is to list him as a true number two.

3 free agents the Cowboys should consider signing before training camp – Blogging The Boys
Justin Simmons, Safety. One area the Cowboys did not address in free agency or the draft was the safety room. Previously, there were questions if either Malik Hooker and Donovan Wilson would be cap casualties. While both are currently on the roster, the Cowboys could use a much needed boost to the room heading into the 2025 season. Justin Simmons is former two-time Pro Bowler and four-time second team All-Pro. Though he has seen his play dip over the last few seasons, Simmons is still a quality depth piece in the safety room that lacks difference makers. Simmons versatility and ball-hawking skills would be an excellent addition to Matt Eberflus’ defense and help shore up the backend of the Cowboys defense.

Detroit Lions sign 3 players from rookie minicamp tryouts – Pride Of Detroit
Raequan Williams, too, is an NFL veteran. A former Michigan State Spartan, Williams went undrafted in 2020 and spent time with the Eagles, Jaguars, and Panthers—playing in seven games total. Williams is 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, and most of his playing experience is at defensive tackle.
