Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 6/10/25.

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

2025 NFL MVP dark horses: Ja’Marr Chase, Travis Hunter, Baker Mayfield among potential candidates – NFL.com
SAQUON BARKLEY: After Barkley’s extraordinary effort in 2024, it’s hard to imagine what more the 28-year-old back could do to bolster his candidacy in 2025. But something close to a repeat performance would at least reinforce how unique he is, even among the NFL’s best players, and how invaluable he is to one of the league’s elite teams. What other definition of Most Valuable Player is there? […] JALEN HURTS: The reigning Super Bowl MVP, Hurts was uneven last season but finished second in MVP voting in 2022. He has plenty of weapons in the passing game — A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert — but with so much of the offense running through Barkley, Hurts might not be able to amass the type of statistics that draw the attention of MVP voters, despite leading one of the NFL’s best teams.

Jeffrey Lurie continues to support the Autism community with $50 million donation – BGN
Eagles CEO Jeffrey Lurie is putting his money where his mouth is in regards to his commitment to Autism research and the community. Lurie is donating $50 million to launch the Lurie Autism Institute in partnership with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Penn Medicine.

Eagles rookie NFL player comparisons: EDGE Antwaun Powell-Ryland – PhillyVoice
This is going to be an unpopular comp, but watching Powell-Ryland’s highlight reel reminded me of when I cut up Bryce Huff’s 2023 sacks with the Jets. Watch both and tell me they don’t look like the same guy. Obviously, Eagles fans didn’t see much of that in 2024, but Huff was an effective situational pass rusher with the Jets — for one season, anyway — despite his lack of size. One big difference is that Powell-Ryland plays hard, while Huff seemed disinterested for most of the 2024 season.

Can the Eagles defense run it back? – ESPN
The odds of Philadelphia’s defense maintaining such a high level of play after losing so much talent aren’t great. But the presence of Fangio gives them a shot. The Eagles’ defensive fortunes did a 180 when Fangio was hired to replace Sean Desai and Matt Patricia last offseason. His demanding, old school approach and deep well of knowledge built up over 40 years in coaching was exactly what the doctor ordered to get things back on track. His cred has only gone up since overseeing a top-ranked defense that made Mahomes look ordinary in a 40-22 thrashing of the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. “I don’t think Coach Vic knows but, man, he coached some of my favorite guys in the world,” said Smith. “Watching Von Miller in his defense made me want to be the person that I am today. Just relentless, like ‘Who is that guy? What does he do during the offseason? Why is he always at the ball?’ “Coach Vic, watching him and how he molded those guys, it’s nothing for me to listen to him, to be coachable. Are you crazy? He coached guys that surpassed in the league, Super Bowl MVPs. And he’ll never talk about none of that, but you feel it.”

Top Eagles storylines heading into 2025 mandatory minicamp – NBCSP
The final look: After holding his first-ever mandatory camp last year, Nick Sirianni reduced it to just one day in 2025 as the Eagles are coming off a long Super Bowl season in 2024. The only team without a mandatory minicamp this spring is the Detroit Lions. Most teams have a multi-day minicamp like the Eagles did last year. This will be our final look at the Eagles this spring ahead of training camp. Reporters will get to watch players go through individual drills, special teams, 7-on-7s and 11-on-11s in shorts and helmets. It’ll also be our final time speaking with Sirianni until the team is back together in training camp. We’ll get his thoughts on where the team sits as they get ready for the longest break of the calendar.

One reason for optimism for every team ahead of the 2025 NFL season – PFF
Philadelphia Eagles: A stacked roster returns. Philadelphia ran roughshod through the NFL last season en route to its second Super Bowl victory. This year’s edition of the Eagles is poised to defend their title, returning 20 of their 25 players who led the team in snaps last season. Their defense, which paced the NFL in PFF grade last season, took most of the damage but returns stars such as Jalen Carter, Zack Baun, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. The Eagles boast the best roster in the NFL heading into this season.

Meet Gabrielle Dillon: Influencer, foodie, entrepreneur, mother, and wife of new Eagles running back AJ Dillon – Inquirer
Dillon also shares an Instagram account and a food blog with her husband, called Dining with the Dillons, which has gained more than 20,000 followers on Instagram. The page features food reviews from Green Bay, Florida — where her parents now reside — and of course, Philadelphia. After Dillon signed with the Eagles in March, the family packed their bags and made the move just four weeks later. After living in Philly for almost three months, she spoke with The Inquirer about her foodie adventures, being a mother, and adjusting to a new life in a different city.

Terry McLaurin not attending mandatory minicamp; Looking for new deal with Commanders – Hogs Haven
McLaurin will be 30 during in September and is entering the final year of his last contract extension. He skipped OTAs and mandatory minicamp during the last round of negotiations, but signed his new 3-year extension worth up to $71 million on July 5th, 2022, three weeks before the start of training camp.

Cowboys training camp battles: Javonte Williams vs Miles Sanders – Blogging The Boys
When the Cowboys get to Oxnard, it will be important to track who is getting a majority of the first-team reps and who is performing at a higher level, because more than likely that will be the Cowboys RB1 heading into the 2025 season. We must note as well, the Cowboys week one matchup could be an interesting revenge game for Miles Sanders against the Philadelphia Eagles if he is able to win the job this offseason.

Can tight end Greg Dulcich revive once-promising career with New York Giants? – Big Blue View
Dulcich, a little bit like Johnson with the Giants in 2024, had a promising rookie season that was cut short by injury. He caught 33 passes for 411 yards and 2 touchdowns in 10 games, missing the final seven with a right hamstring injury. That same troublesome hamstring held him back in 2023 as he injured in twice and played in only two games. The Broncos waived him late November last season after Dulcich had been inactive for eight straight games, and the Giants claimed him. When Dulcich was waived by Denver, Predominantly Orange wrote that Dulich “hasn’t been the same player” since the leg injuries began in 2022. If he can stay healthy, perhaps the 25-year-old Dulcich still has some pass-catching upside.
