Assembling the best team from the NFL’s most important division.
With training camp in full swing, hype for the upcoming NFL season is ramping up. Even with the Philadelphia Eagles coming off a dominant run to the Super Bowl, the NFC East should be contentious. There hasn’t been a repeat champion in 20 years and a big reason that may persist is the division being loaded with talent. Here is a preseason All-NFC East offense.
Quarterback
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts has one of the most accomplished beginnings to any quarterback’s career ever. In five years, Hurts has led the Eagles to the playoffs all four years he was the starter, led the team to two Super Bowls, and won one. Hurts is coming off a dominant postseason performance where he completed over 71% of his passes for 726 yards and five scores while posting another five touchdowns on the ground. The way the Eagles have their offense is constructed, the passing game takes a backseat to the rushing attack. However, Hurts has shown he can be a force whenever he’s asked to step up and make big plays with his arm.
Second Team: Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
Running Back
Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles: Saquon Barkley is coming off the greatest running back season of all time. Barkley narrowly missed the single season rushing record in part because he didn’t play the last game of the season. He then went on to rush for 499 yards in the playoffs and helped carry the Eagles to a Super Bowl. It’s hard to expect him to come close to his 2024 production, but Barkley will still be one of the best backs in the league this year.
Second Team: Tyrone Tracy Junior, New York Giants
Wide Receiver
AJ Brown, Philadelphia Eagles: Since getting traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, AJ Brown has been one of the most dominant wide receivers in the NFL. Brown’s strength, physicality, and ability are unmatched. His role in the Eagles offense has not changed across three offensive coordinators and its likely he will continue to put up big numbers in 2025.
CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb is a special player. Few other receivers in the league are as successful both in the slot and outside as Lamb is and the Cowboys know it. They feed him the ball and he makes their offense go, even when not much else in the unit is working. With a healthier group this year, Lamb should be one of the more productive receivers in the league.
Malik Nabers, New York Giants: Not much went right for the Giants in 2024, but drafting Malik Nabers will help shape the offense over the next few years. Nabers is an incredibly dynamic player after the catch and the Giants did anything and everything to get him the ball last year. With more stability at the quarterback position, the hope is that Nabers can be more efficient in his second season.
Second Team: Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders and Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders and Devonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles
Tight End
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles: Dallas Goedert last few years have been marred by bad injury luck but he is one of the league’s best tight ends when he’s on the field. Luckily for the Eagles, Goedert was able to get back in the lineup and played great postseason football to help them win a Super Bowl. After some uncertainty this offseason as to whether he’d return to the team, Goedert will play out the last year of his contract and hopefully have a healthy season.
Second Team: Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders
Offensive Tackle
Jordan Mailata, Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles have the best tackle duo in the NFL and Jordan Mailata was arguably the best offensive lineman in the league last year. Mailata was always a dominant run blocker but has turned into the type of player that can erase pass rushers. So much of the Eagles success in 2024 can be owed to Mailata and…
Lane Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles: Lane Johnson! Headed into his THIRTEENTH season in the league, Lane Johnson has been as steady as they come. Johnson continues to be a dominant, reliable player and one of the best players to ever dawn the midnight green.
Second Team: Andrew Thomas, New York Giants and Josh Conerly, Washington Commanders
Offensive Guard
Landon Dickerson, Philadelphia Eagles: Landon Dickerson is another crucial piece of the Eagles offensive line. Dickerson is a tremendous run blocker and dependable pass blocker. He and Jordan Mailata have held down the left side of the Eagles line since Dickerson got to Philly in 2021.
Sam Cosmi, Washington Commanders: The Commanders had a weak offensive line in 2024, but Sam Cosmi was a bright spot. He was a solid run and pass blocker and should have a better 2025 with so many new pieces around him.
Second Team: Tyler Smith, Dallas Cowboys and Whoever Starts between Cam Jurgens and Lane Johnson (likely Tyler Steen), Philadelphia Eagles
Center
Cam Jurgens, Philadelphia Eagles: Filling Jason Kelce’s shoes is no easy task and Cam Jurgens isn’t quite there yet. However, he stepped in as the keystone of Philly’s offensive line and the unit continue to hum along in 2024. Jurgens has the athleticism and physicality to be a dominant player. In year two of starting at center, I expect Jurgens to take another big step forward.
