Saquon Barkley and the Eagles received some ESPY Award wins

That’s cool, I guess.

Does anyone care about the ESPYs?

Well, here I am blogging about them. And here you are reading a blog post about them.

So, I guess the answer is “Yes.”

To some extent, at least.

Anyway, I didn’t watch the award show live on Wednesday evening, but apparently the Philadelphia Eagles were well-represented.

The Birds won “Best Team.” Pretty hard to argue they didn’t deserve it after going 14-3 in the regular season and then mostly dominating in the playoffs to become Super Bowl LIX champions.

Mechanicsburg, PA native Shane Gillis, who was hosting the ESPYs and is a big Eagles fan, showed some love to his favorite team:

Saquon Barkley unsurprisingly won “Best NFL Player” (man, he really should’ve been MVP) and “Best Play” for his reverse hurdle.

Is anyone truly jazzed about the Eagles and Barkley taking these awards home? I doubt it.

But, hey, any extra chance to remind everyone that the Eagles won the Super Bowl (again!) is never a bad thing.

Speaking of that game … was Nick Sirianni wearing the Eagles’ yet-to-be-revealed Super Bowl LIX ring while being interviewed by Gillis?

The team’s ring ceremony is scheduled for the evening of Friday, July 18th. AKA tomorrow relative to this July 17 publish date.
