There has been a lot of talk about the NFL’s overtime rules over the past few months due to the ending of the Bills-Chiefs game from the AFC Divisional Round. Well, it appears the league may have found a solution – or two.
It’s been announced that the NFL will consider two overtime rule changes for the 2022 season.
The Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles have both proposed that NFL overtime rules should allow both teams an opportunity to possess the ball at least once.
The Tennessee Titans, meanwhile, sent over a rule proposal that states both teams should be allowed an opportunity to posses the ball in overtime unless the team with the first possession scores a touchdown and has a successful two-point try.
Here are the proposed rule changes:

Honestly, the Titans’ proposal is pretty interesting. If a team can’t stop a touchdown and a two-point conversion, it probably shouldn’t get a possession in overtime.
The NFL has been reluctant to change its overtime rules in the past, but it’ll be interesting to see if anything comes out of this.
