Super Bowl LIX culminated with a 40–22 thrashing of the Kansas City Chiefs at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. Even that score — doesn’t do the Philadelphia performance justice — as nearly complete domination as any Super Bowl in recent memory.
At the heart of all of those great individual performances — was the Eagles defensive line. Jalynx Hunt, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, and Brandon Graham were simply unblockable — they ravaged the Chiefs offensive line all night while putting Patrick Mahomes on the turf play after play.

The outcome of a performance like that is almost always players getting paid. As a result — Josh Sweat and Milton Williams have departed Philadelphia. You might have thought that 2024 Eagles free agent signing Bryce Huff would get another opportunity. But that was not be to as the Eagles traded Huff to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round Draft Pick last week.
In the summer of 2024 — one of the team’s biggest signings of the offseason was former New York Jets linebacker Bryce Huff. Huff played in 12 games for the Eagles last season including the NFC Wildcard Game against the Green Bay Packers and the NFC Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams. Last March — Huff signed a three-year over fifty-one million contract with the Eagles.
But in the Eagles two most significant matchups of the 2025 postseason — the NFC Championship Game at Lincoln Financial Field against the Washington Commanders as well as Super Bowl LIX against the Chiefs — Huff was inactive. Before trading Huff to the 49ers — the Eagles informed him not to attend the OTA’s at the Novacare Complex.
