Oh, how the sun does shine in Philadelphia.
It seems the Birds potentially received some great news after a report started circulating that Zach Ertz might remain with the Eagles after Howard Eskins reported that the tight end would report for camp.
If the three-time Pro Bowler does in fact remain with Philadelphia, Nick Sirianni could have two really talented tight ends to help Jalen Hurts take the next step as a passer.
Ertz finished the 2020 season with 36 receptions, 335 yards, and 1 touchdown, one of his lowest statistical outings since his rookie season.
With Goedert and Ertz on the roster, Philadelphia can now trot out two of the top six tight ends in the NFL, with the former South Dakota State star now the top guy.
With first-round pick DeVonta Smith — as well as other options like Jalen Reagor, Miles Sanders, and Travis Fulgham — there will be a plethora of downfield threats available for Hurts to distribute the football to.
It offers the Eagles a potential juggernaut on offense and it’ll give Jalen Hurts and Sirianni more than enough tools to work with through the air.
