Is JJ Arcega-Whiteside down to his final shot with the Eagles?

July 14, 2021 by Eagles Wire Leave a Comment

JJ Arcega-Whiteside will compete with Quez Watkins and John Hightower for a roster spot and it’ll be a competition that could define his career in Philadelphia.

During an episode of the “Inside the Birds” podcast, NFL reporter Adam Caplan believes the former 2nd round pick could need an impressive training camp to hang around.

“… Look the light could go on for Hightower or Arcega-Whiteside or Watkins, anything is capable of happening we know that, never say never. Arcega-Whiteside has shown nothing for two years. He does give them size and physical style of play, which some of the other guys are not known for, and that gives them a little bit of an edge, but he’s on the outside looking in. To me, he’s a long shot to make it, he’s got to prove himself…”

Quez Watkins should definitely get an opportunity to display his explosiveness, while Arcega-Whiteside will benefit from having Nick Sirianni’s experience coaching and playing the wide receiver position.

With his second-round status no longer justifying his roster spot, the former Stanford star could be down to his final shot with Philadelphia.
