The Birds are already getting some paperwork out of the way.
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed four of their 10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft to standard four-year rookie contracts, according to an official team announcement.
The players: linebacker Smael Mondon Jr., quarterback Kyle McCord, offensive tackle Myles Hinton, and edge rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland.
The Eagles are hosting their rookie minicamp at the NovaCare Complex this weekend. We’ll soon see if the remaining six unsigned picks will end up putting pen to paper.
There was once a time when rookie contracts weren’t as much of a formality as they currently are. As such, we used to see some players hold out from training camp. But aside from very few exceptions, that’s no longer the case.
The Eagles haven’t had issues anytime recently with rookies being unable to participate in training camp because they decided to hold out. The team had their 2024 NFL Draft class under contract by early June last year when Quinyon Mitchell was the last player to sign.
So, I would expect the Eagles to once again get their remaining picks under contract before late July at the latest. Four down, six to go.
