Dallas Goedert and Avonte Maddox star in new Wawa ad

Nothing like Philly pandering.

With a preseason game that won’t feature any Eagles starters tonight, the most noteworthy thing for Birds fans right now might be this new Wawa ad. Featuring teammates (and roommates) Dallas Goedert and Avonte Maddox, the odd couple-like duo star in this video for the beloved convenience store chain while paying homage to classic television sitcoms:

Both rookies from the 2018 draft class, Goedert and Maddox became fast friends and roommates during the beginning of their Eagles tenure. The difference between the 5’9” Maddox and the 6’5” Goedert is stark and the two of them poke fun at it in the ad.

It looks like at least one of their Eagles teammates finds the Wawa vid funny as well:

Both Maddox and Goedert are poised for big roles in 2021. Entering the final years of their rookie deals, neither has quite broken out the way fans may have hoped after their promising rookie campaigns in 2018. Maddox looks to be the starting nickel cornerback and Goedert may finally be supplanting Super Bowl hero Zach Ertz as the Eagles’ lead tight end.
