Well, Eagles fans. Maybe its time for one of those fireside chats — in the middle of a heat wave. Put down your Phillies towel for a moment and let’s try to set some expectations. You know, some reasonable achievable “fandom” milestones before the July 2025 Training Camp starts.

Believe it or not (shoutout to Greatest American Hero) the 2025–2026 NFL season is almost upon us. Summer fun will fly by and we’ll be in the midst of the pre-season before you know it. The first step is not to get caught in all of the noise of the offseason. If you’ve missed Kevin Hart’s Cold As Balls: Season 7 with Saquon Barkley — it’s worth watching. You can definitely skip a few episodes before when Giants linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux detailed how Eagle’s fans have a low IQ. Like it’s a rule or something.
We’ll welcome you to midnight green whenever you are ready, Kayvon.
But one thing is for certain. The celebration is about to conclude. This group of Eagles will be very different than the group that met in the Novacare Complex to board Parade buses and get fitted for Super Bowl Rings. The parades in places like in Quinyon Mitchell’s Florida hometown, and Cooper DeJean’s Odebolt, Iowa, visits to the White House, and incredible interviews are all about over.
And what should be our expectations for 2025–2026? Here is a thought — don’t have any. Outside of a group of post-world War II athletes who ran over the NFL in the late 1940s (literally) this is the best Eagles team. Not in the modern era. But ever.
Don’t lose sight of the fact that before the last decade — it took the Eagles 57 years to win another World Championship in 1960. It took 20 years after that to reach the Franchises’ first Super Bowl. It would take another 25 to get back there and another 13 to win one. We suffered through Marion Campbell’s mis-steps, Buddy Ryan’s empty promises, Ray Rhodes collapse, and Rich Kotite’s well — whatever it was that he gave us.
So before you heap on the 2025–2026 Eagles expectations for nothing less than a Super Bowl LX in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Take a long, deep breath. And enjoy this. Enjoy Training Camp, the pre-season, the leadup to the first game with the Cowboys. The Eagles have as good a chance as any team in recent Philly history to repeat as Super Bowl Champions in 2026. Just don’t focus on what the Eagles could win.
Focus on what they already have.
