The 32-year-old Brooks began his career with the Houston Texans, selected in the third-round of the 2012 NFL draft. Midway through his career, Brooks found a new home in Philadelphia and became a three-time Pro Bowler. Bringing the Eagles their first ever Lombardi Trophy in 2017.
Brooks future with the team remained unclear heading into the offseason. The OL has played in just two games since 2019 due to injuries. He missed the entirety of the 2020 season because of a torn Achilles. And suffered a season-ending pectoral injury in Week 2 of this past season.
“At what point do you listen to your body?” Brooks said of his decision to walk away from the game. “I think my body was just telling me.”

Brooks ends his career as one of the more lock-solid interior offensive linemen of his era. And one that helped bring a long-awaited Super Bowl championship to the city of Philadelphia.
A mauling run blocker, his three Pro Bowl selections are the most ever by a guard in Eagles franchise history. He also didn’t allow a single sack for the entirety of the team’s Super Bowl season.
Salute to Brandon Brooks on a tremendous NFL career.
