COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA — Self-improvement is the name of the game for basketball’s top high school prospects over the summer, and it’s something that four-star class of 2026 prospect Adam Oumiddoch is taking very seriously.
“Me personally, I just want to achieve everything I can honestly achieve,” Oumiddoch told ZAGSBLOG. “I just want to be the best I can be.”
The 6-foot-6 guard plays for Overtime Elite during high school ball, which Oumiddoch said has helped prepare him to take his game to the next level.
“I love OTE,” Oumiddoch said. “I’m all about getting better and working out in the gym, so that’s all I can get. When I’m there, we stay in the gym and work out 3-4 times a day. And I love that. I’m all about getting better, so I love Overtime for that. It’s a great place to put your name on the map.”
Oumiddoch has been grinding for Team Wildcat Select at the Adidas 3SSB circuit to start the summer. He’s averaged 17.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists to help Wildcat Select to a 7-1 record. His best performance was a 33-point, 10-rebound game against the Arkansas Hawks.
“I’m a scoring guard,” Oumiddoch said. “A guard that’s able to make any read, whether that’s getting to the rim, finishing or playmaking. Also, I’m a rebounder and I’m a good two-way defender.”
Even with his success at the 3SSB circuit, Oumiddoch remains motivated to improve.
“Probably my scoring, my lateral quickness and also my pace,” he said of areas he’s trying to grow. “Like working that ball from slow to fast and being able to use my strengths and my ability. Some people are more athletic than me, so sometimes I need to play off two or slow down and don’t go as fast as them. Make them play at my pace and don’t let them speed me up.”
As far as his recruitment, Oumiddoch has the attention of several college programs. He said coaches from LSU, Oklahoma State, Oregon and Villanova came to watch him play at the live 3SSB session. He has also taken a visit to Alabama. Here’s how he broke down the schools involved:
Alabama: “It was a great experience. Coach [Preston] Murphy is my guy and I have a pretty good relationship with him. I’m pretty close with him. I took my unofficial visit there and I’m probably going to take my official soon. We watched them play against Florida. College it’s a high-level game, and I got to be ready to play.”
LSU: “I’m in contact with the head coach and assistant Casey Long. They’ve been recruiting me since I was a sophomore. They’ve been pretty heavy on me and I’ve enjoyed my relationship with them since then. They came out to today’s game, came and supported me. So I like that staff too.”
Oregon: “I like Oregon. Coach [Josh] Jamieson has been at all of our games, showing love.” Oumiddoch has scheduled an official visit to Oregon on Sept. 6.
Oklahoma State: “Coach [James] Miller came to our last game. It was a tough loss, but he still showed love. Steve Lutz, that’s my guy. As soon as he got the job, he hit me up and called me actually the first day. So I’ve had a relationship with him and it’s been pretty good. He hit me up whenever we came here, landed. And yeah, he’s been good to me.”
Villanova: “[Kevin Willard] hit me up. The Texas coach had hit me up, too. But the new coaches that are moving around and stuff, I just got to get used to it and figure out what I’m going to do, but yeah.”
Oumiddoch has been in contact with other schools as well, but his focus is on feeling like he is a priority for the school he chooses.
“Not just any kid coming in there,” he said. “I want to have a great relationship with the coach and someone that truly believes in me and gives me an opportunity. That’s all.”
The four-star guard believes that over time, it will be obvious which school wants him to be a part of their program the most.
“In my opinion, it’s either you like me or you don’t,” Oumiddoch said. “And I’m only going to one school, so a coach can show me love and whatever coach is showing me the most love, hopefully we can build that bond and go over there.”
Oumiddoch is the No. 48-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. His favorite NBA player is Derrick Rose and his favorite hobby outside of basketball is hanging out with his mother.
