Former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky maintained his innocence 12 years after being convicted of sexually abusing children.

Convicted of 45 counts, Sandusky is serving a prison sentence of 30-60 years. The ex-Nittany Lions defensive coordinator was found guilty of sexually abusing multiple boys over a 15-year period.

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Sandusky continued to deny any wrongdoing.

“I never ever in my life ever thought about molesting anybody,” Sandusy claimed. “I was accused of heinous crimes, which I’ve never committed. My wife was my only partner in sex and that was after marriage.”

Sandusky blamed his conviction on “inconsistent, perjured testimony.” He claimed law enforcement and therapists “coached” the multiple witnesses.

In 2002, a graduate assistant told Joe Paterno that he saw Sandusky sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy. The head coach did not report those accusations and resigned after Sandusky was arraigned in 2011.

From 2006 to 2007, Sandusky allegedly performed oral sex on another boy more than 20 times and forced the boy to perform oral sex on him.

Sandusky admitted to showering with a young boy in 1998 and told the New York Times in 2011 that he’s “attracted to young people.” [He and his lawyer insisted that he didn’t mean sexually.]

A 2019 audit showed that Penn State has paid $118 million to Sandusky’s victims.

Sandusky told the Daily Mail that his legal team is seeking a new trial. He believes the past trial’s use of repressed memory therapy would not stand up in court today.
