Week 3 of the college football season has come and gone, meaning that it’s time once again for a new edition of Coaches Poll. Although the top few spots remained unchanged, there was plenty of movement throughout the Top 25.
Alabama came in at No. 1 for the fourth consecutive week and took 64 of the 65 first-place votes. Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas A&M rounded out the top five after all picking up their third wins of the year this weekend.
Iowa and Clemson switched spots at No. 6 and No. 7 with the Hawkeyes leaping the Tigers. Penn State proved to be one of the biggest climbers of the week, jumping up four spots to No. 8. Cincinnati fell one place to No. 9 and Notre Dame held serve at No. 10.
No. 21 Michigan State and No. 16 BYU were among the biggest risers in Week 4 of the Coaches Poll with the previously unranked Spartans going up eight spots and the Cougars climbing up seven places in the top 25. No. 18 Arkansas and No. 19 Michigan also each climbed six positions, as a handful of teams fell out of the rankings completely.
However, No. 25 Fresno State won the award for the biggest jump, going up 16 spots after a win over UCLA.
