With roster spots open, the Sixers will apparently cycle through 10-day contracts as the team will reportedly sign forward David Roddy.
The Sixers will reportedly make a full circle-type signing.
The team will ink forward David Roddy to a 10-day contract, per NBA insider Jake Fischer.
The Sixers are planning to sign former Hawks forward David Roddy to a 10-day contract after he clears waivers, source says.

You might recall that Roddy was originally selected by the Sixers 23rd overall out of Colorado State, but the team had a deal in place with the Memphis Grizzlies to acquire De’Anthony Melton. The trade worked out quite well for the Sixers, who got plenty of production from Melton before the guard dealt with recurring back issues.
Roddy didn’t stick in Memphis and was dealt to the Phoenix Suns after just one and half seasons. The Suns then traded him to the Atlanta Hawks this past summer. After some moves at the trade deadline, the Hawks waived Roddy on Feb. 6. Now, he’s about to be a Sixer (again?).
Nothing about Roddy’s raw NBA numbers will blow you away. He’s averaged 6.3 points on 42.2% shooting from the field and 30.8% from three. But he’s still just 23 years old and showed an intriguing skillset with Colorado State. Like Guerschon Yabusele, Roddy is built like a tank — 6-foot-4, 255 pounds — but moves well for his size, is skilled and has a strong basketball IQ. He just hasn’t quite put it all together on the NBA level.
It seems like the Sixers might be targeting a type with their 10-day contracts. This past week, the team also signed Chuma Okeke, a former first-round pick who is a bigger combo forward, to a 10-day. With the success the Sixers had in finding Yabusele — a former first-round pick with great size — why not go back to the well?
The Sixers on Sunday also officially converted Justin Edwards’ two-way contract to a standard deal. With newcomer Jared Butler also expected to be converted to a standard deal in the near future, it will be interesting to see how the back of the roster situation shakes out. What’s clear is the Sixers’ desire to get younger, a welcome change from this past offseason.
