Kelly Oubre Jr. of the Philadelphia 76ers was involved in a car accident prior to Game 3 against the New York Knicks.
It was reported by the police that Oubre “disregarded a red traffic signal” before crashing his Lamborghini into a Hyundai Elantra. Both vehicles were towed, but no injuries occurred.
According to TMZ, the Philadelphia Police Department Affairs Division is looking into Monday night’s crash involving Oubre.
Even though Oubre reportedly committed a traffic violation, the police at the scene of the crash didn’t issue him a ticket. The veteran swingman wasn’t given a breathalyzer or blood test either.
The Philadelphia Police Department Affairs Division is trying to figure out if Oubre received special treatment.
Earlier this week, Oubre briefly commented on the accident. He said he’ll consider getting a personal driver.
“Everything is good,” Oubre said. “I’m OK. The people who were involved are OK, but I’m gonna need to probably get a driver or something and just stay off the roads and behind the wheel. But everything is good.”
Oubre had 15 points in Philadelphia’s win on Thursday night.
Game 4 of the Knicks-76ers series is set for this Sunday afternoon.
