This fine emphasizes the NBA’s stance on transparency. In a recent press conference, Nurse described Embiid as “progressing well” and actively involved in five-on-five practices, suggesting his absence was just part of an individual treatment plan. Morey’s similar comments about Embiid’s “ramping up” status contributed to the league’s decision to penalize the 76ers for the inconsistency between their statements and Embiid’s actual health status.
Sixers Injury Report Filled Early
The Sixers face further challenges with the absence of Paul George. Their major offseason acquisition is also out due to a left knee bone bruise. Both Embiid and George participated in limited practices but were ruled out for the Sixers’ next game against the Detroit Pistons.

However, he was incredibly inefficient, going 14-of-32 from the field and only 5-of-17 from three-point range. Until George and Embiid return, the Sixers will continue to rely on Maxey. It is a significant responsibility for the young star; he has been feeling the defensive attention. Maxey is only shooting 34.9% from the field and 23.7% from three this season.
