For many years Howard Eskin has been the brash voice of Philadelphia sports radio and he’s been no stranger to controversy. But a recent incident may have resulted in his being banned from several of the city’s biggest sports teams.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer via Athlon Sports, Eskin has been barred from working at Citizens Bank Park through the end of this season following an investigation into an allegation that he made “an unwelcome advance” towards an Aramark worker at the ballpark.
Per the report, Eskin gave the employee an unwanted kiss at the ballpark back in May. The Phillies have since released a statement supporting the decision from Audacy to suspend Eskin from their stadium.
“The Phillies take these allegations very seriously. We cooperated with our partners at Audacy and Aramark on their investigations. We support Audacy’s decision to suspend Howard Eskin from Citizens Bank Park,” the team said in a statement.
“The safety of our employees is paramount, and when we learned that an Aramark employee had been subjected to an unwanted advance by an Audacy employee, we immediately began an investigation, which corroborated the allegations,” Aramark said in their own statement, via CBS News. “We then worked with Audacy and the Phillies to ensure that appropriate steps were taken to protect our employee and all of the Aramark employees at Citizens Bank Park.”
But it won’t just be the Phillies keeping Eskin out of their stadium. The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly barring him from their training camp
“A spokesperson for the Philadelphia 76ers said Wednesday the team does not intend to grant access to their training complex ‘until further notice’ and has requested Wells Fargo Center not to let Eskin in for games and team activities for the foreseeable future,” CBS News noted.
Not good.
