Before Game 1 between the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks, veteran forward Kelly Oubre called out Madison Square Garden’s famous celebrity row.
“They’re gonna give celebrities those $100,000 free tickets just to be there and not care about the game,” Oubre said. “That’s what they do.”
After hearing Oubre’s comments, ESPN’s Alan Hahn tweeted this message at Ben Stiller: “Feel like White Goodman needs to address this situation.”
Stiller, who starred as White Goodman in “Dodgeball,” usually sits courtside for Knicks games. He’s been a fan of the franchise for decades.
With that said, Stiller was more than happy to fire back at Oubre – albeit he did so on White Goodman’s behalf.
“Oh I think I care a lot more than you think that you thought I cared…,” Stiller replied. “Kelly Who-bre?”
Stiller’s message for Oubre immediately went viral, receiving countless likes and comments.
“Reading this in White Goodman’s voice is killing me,” one fan replied.
Another fan said, “Kelly Who-bre goes crazy. Ben really is part of the family man! You love to see it.”
The Knicks are slight favorites over the 76ers. They’ll try to prove tonight why they’re legitimate contenders in the Eastern Conference.
Tipoff for Game 1 between the 76ers and Knicks is at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.
