Nothing says the Sixers are back like a fresh new injury to report.
They really are back.
The Sixers returned from the All-Star break and resumed practice Tuesday night. They seem to be picking up right where they left off as they announced Justin Edwards left the practice early after spraining his ankle. The team will provide further updates as they receive more information.
Thankfully, there weren’t many other changes to the injury report. Both Kyle Lowry and Eric Gordon remained sideline. Both missed the final two games before the break — Gordon with a right wrist injury while Lowry has been plagued with hip issues all season. The team also announced that Gordon would be visiting a specialist for his wrist on Wednesday, with an update to follow.
Eric Gordon (right wrist) and Kyle Lowry (hip) did not practice today.
The Sixers also say Justin Edwards left practice today after spraining his ankle. More info to come on him, as well as Gordon, who will see a specialist tomorrow

There was some good news though where it concerns the bigger names on the roster. Nick Nurse said Joel Embiid has responded well to their practices and doesn’t anticipate any immediate issues. No comment was made about Paul George or the injections Shams Charania reported he’s been receiving to play through this pinky injury.
Despite the five-game losing streak, the team doesn’t sound intent on shutting Embiid or George down at all. Nurse said repeatedly that the goal is still to find a way into the Play-In tournament.
So if Gordon and Lowry continue to miss time, it forces them to play their newer, younger players in the backcourt. This would be a rotten stretch for Edwards to miss though, after he’s started in nine of the last 10 games. The team won’t have any update on him either until they’re able to further evaluate him.
