Joel Embiid is “on track” to rejoin the Philadelphia 76ers by training camp, according to Daryl Morey.
“He’s very engaged, attacking rehab,” Morey said. “Doing everything he can to be out there. He had a meeting with [the surgeon] this week. All things, to use a NASA term, are nominal. Things are going well and expected, and we expect that to continue.”
Embiid was ruled out for the season last February after undergoing meniscus surgery.
The Sixers will start training camp early this year due to playing a preseason game in Abu Dhabi against the Knicks.
“Things are on track to be ready right around there,” Morey added.
Embiid has played 58 regular-season games since winning the MVP for the 2022-23 season.
