In a move that was expected, the Sixers are re-signing veteran Eric Gordon to a one-year minimum deal.
Wow, broken by the official team account — we don’t see that much anymore. As their X account announced, Eric Gordon has signed a deal to return to the Sixers.

In a statement released from the team, president of basketball operations Daryl Morey said, “Eric is a prolific shot maker whose ability to space the floor will serve our rotation well. He’s been a great fit on and off the court with this organization and we’re fortunate to have him back,”
The deal has been reported by Derek Bodner of PHLY to be a one year deal for the veteran’s minimum. Gordon’s initial salary was also the minimum, but by signing a new one he actually makes a little bit more money while it benefits the Sixers’ cap sheet as well.
You can read more about the fine details here, but Gordon will basically go from making ~$3.4 million to ~$3.6. As for the Sixers, his cap hit will only be ~$2.2 million dollars.
That’s still not a lot relative to the rest of the cap sheet, but it seems that every dollar seems to help at the moment. The team seems to be waiting on what offer they might have to match for Quentin Grimes before making any decisions beyond that in free agency, if they do so at all. Here’s a full breakdown of how they’re looking currently now that all three veterans with player options have officially returned.
