When Doc Rivers took over as Clippers head coach in 2013, there was one player he felt he could always count on to be a balm: backup guard Willie Green. “It was not a great locker room,” Rivers said. “Just had some personalities that didn’t get along. But the one guy that the whole group did listen to was Willie. He wasn’t the best player. As a matter of fact, he wasn’t even playing much by then. But he had a way about himself.”
