Game 1 was an instant classic. What will Game 2 have in store tonight in Oklahoma City?
Continuing the running theme of these 2025 NBA playoffs, Thursday night’s Game 1 delivered the entertaining spectacle us neutral observers were seeking. Tyrese Haliburton kept up his incredible run of clutch postseason shots, putting the Indiana Pacers ahead for the first time of the game with 0.3 seconds left for the 111-110 win over the Thunder. As outlined by Tom Haberstroh, Haliburton is now shooting 13-of-15 this season on shots in the last two minutes to tie or go ahead, which would cause you to throw your controller if the opponent was doing that against you in a video game. We may be witnessing the most clutch season of our lifetimes.
The Game 1 victory completed yet another wild fourth-quarter comeback for the Pacers, who trailed by as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter. Logically, we would expect Oklahoma City to make the necessary adjustments and do a more convincing job of putting things away in tonight’s Game 2. But we may have reached the point where all logic needs to be thrown out the window when it comes to these Pacers.
In any event, it looks like this won’t be the short, low-drama series some folks were anticipating. Surely the Thunder won’t drop both games at home and head back to Indiana with an 0-2 deficit? Can TJ McConnell draw within two wins of being an NBA champion? We’ll find out together tonight, but I personally won’t be surprised if we see more fireworks.
